Season over

Hopefully won't define us this season

Chance for Diop to step up to form awesome partnership with Zouma

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
Ah shit, luckily CB is our strongest position but he is going to be a big miss!

He was in the process of signing a new deal aswell. Contract up in the summer.

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
I suspected as much, the way he went down the first time he was treated. When he carried on playing, I thought it couldn’t have been too bad, and that’s my hope now. If he’d seriously done his ACL, there’s no way he would have been able to carry on.

That’s my hope at least.

Get well soon, Ogmeister, son.

Or Dawson either one will do a good job

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
I'm amazed that he managed to carry on, I thought it was the head injury that made him go off?

Be nice to see one of the academy centre backs added to the squad now.

I hope this isn't the start of our injury bad luck!!!

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
West Ham United can confirm that Angelo Ogbonna sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Sunday’s Premier League victory against Liverpool.

A scan on Monday revealed damage to his right knee and the Italy defender has already started his recovery programme at Rush Green.

Head of Medical Richard Collinge said: “After being substituted following a separate incident that led to him suffering a cut above his eye, Angelo felt some discomfort in his right knee so we scanned him to ascertain the extent of the injury.

“That scan has shown up some damage to the anterior cruciate ligament and we have begun his rehabilitation immediately. Angelo will see another specialist this week and we will then have a clearer picture around his timeline of recovery.”

Everyone at West Ham United would like to wish Angelo a full and timely recovery.

Come back home Winston Reid

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
A torn ACL requires surgery and a rebuild but if he has started recovery already it may just be some damage rather that complete tear.

Gutted for him - he had a period out after the cup game at Man U last season too.

We do have 2 great back ups in Dawson and Diop, playing with Zouma might bring Diop on but Ogbonna is great for us and to lose him while we are flying is absolutely gutting.

Hope it’s not too bad and we see you back soon Angelo.

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
This is bad news but as others have said, we have Diop and Dawson. What it does mean is fewer options for rotating the squad, which has helped us a lot so far. Could be the opportunity for Alese to step in for some of the cup games.

“Come back home Winston Reid”

Yep, pay-as-you-play deal.

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
Bollocks.

It was working well have two different centre back pairings for league & cup.

Dawson will be asked to play a lot of games.

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
Well we have had over 3 months of basically no injuries so I suppose one was going to land on our lap soon… as that’s the way the cookie crumbles… suppose I better take him out of my works Fantasy Football Squad now (straight swap with Dawson)…

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
He's going to be a big miss, but the only silver lining is that we have very good cover in the CB area.

Wonder if it will fuck up any new contract negotiations? He's 33 now isn't he?

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
At his age with his contract expiring and now this injury, he could have already played his last game for us.

Gutted for him, had just returned to form after a shaky start to the season.

Re: Ogbonna’s done his ACL
They will certainly have the Reid situation in the back of their minds.

Hopefully he comes back still this season and he gets a couple more years.
